We met Jess during the fall of 2020 in a zoom lecture. From the very beginning, she was welcoming to all of her students and made an effort to create a safe, courageous environment. She made learning how to be a teacher fun and gave her all to make things relatable. She made us feel capable of something. The amount of effort Jess has put into being an amazing site coordinator (while navigating a global pandemic) says a lot about her character. Not only has she taught us valuable teaching strategies, she has taught us life lessons that we will always hold close to our hearts. Jess deserves the world and more for believing in us.
