A Cowgirl’s Journey
Out on the plains where the wild winds blow,
There's a tale of a legend everyone should know.
Pam Perry's her name, a mentor so grand,
For forty long years she’s guided this land.
At Eller College, she made her stand,
Shaping young minds with a firm, gentle hand.
Through trials and triumphs, storms and clear skies,
Pam rode the trail, with wisdom in her eyes.
From greenhorns to scholars, she led with pride,
With grit and grace, she stood by our side.
In the saddle of knowledge, she held the reins tight,
Steering us straight through the wildest of nights.
Her office was a corral, her desk a saloon,
Where wisdom was served up with inspiration by noon.
"Y’all better keep moving!" she'd holler with glee,
"Or you’ll end up like a cactus, dry as can be!"
With a heart for students, unwavering and pure,
Pam’s legacy, no doubt, will long endure.
She taught us with grit, although sometimes a bit tough,
But always with resilience when things got rough.
Now the time has come for her to ride away,
Into the sunset of a well-earned day.
The horizon calls with a golden hue,
For a trailblazer’s rest is long overdue.
But we’ll remember the lessons, the tales she told,
The wisdom she shared, worth more than gold.
Pam Perry, our mentor, forever you'll be,
The cowgirl of knowledge, riding wild and free.
So here’s to Pam, with her boots and her hat,
A toast to her journey, and maybe a dog on her lap.
May the sunsets be glorious, the stars always bright,
In the wide open spaces of retirement’s light.
