Norma James

Birthday: 1936
Norma was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on March 25, 1936. She followed the traditional path of marriage and successfully raised a family of four children. However, Norma had a zest for life and believed in pursuing her interests with passion, starting with breeding and showing purebred Persian cats, one of which was “10th best “cat in the United States.
After a move from Pennsylvania to Arizona in 1981, she founded the Twice as Nice resale stores with one small store which quickly expanded to three bustling locations. After retiring from her business life in 1996, she went back to school and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Tucson University. Norma also received her RSA/Cambridge CTEFLA and taught English as a Second Language in both China and Korea for a number of years. She was dedicated to sponsoring international students, working closely with the International Friends organization at the University of Arizona. This included registering her home as American Culture House, to assist exchange students with acclamation to life in the United States. She hosted many exchange students over a 25 year span, developing valued lifelong friendships.
For those of us lucky enough to have known Norma, her memory will always live in our hearts.
