Sharon Douglas
Sharon Douglas truly came up the hard way. Born into dismal poverty she worked her way through schools and came to the University of Arizona where she graduated with both a BA and a Law Degree from the University's College of Law. She practiced law incredibly successfully until she was appointed to the Pima County Superior Court Bench as a commissioner where she served the law and the people who needed help for twenty years before retiring much loved by all those who knew her work her incredible smile and her dedication to people who needed help. She never flinched from the most complex of legal problems. She never wavered from doing anything but her best. She did all of it with courage enormous competence great insight and enormous compassion. And she did all of it so well while also being an exceptional mother and an incredible spouse. Her retirement from the bench is a great gain for her family and friends and a huge loss for justice and the courts.
