In recognition and sincere appreciation to Mrs. Shirley J. Fisher for her 13 years of distinguished and dedicated service as the Director of Field Experiences in the College of Education. Shirley joined the College of Education in 2001 after many years as a teacher principal and administrator in the Flowing Wells Unified School District in Tucson Arizona. She was awarded the Rodel Foundation of Arizona Award of Excellence in 2006 for her outstanding contributions to the Rodel Exemplary Teacher program serving as a liaison for exceptional teachers in high-poverty schools. She leaves behind a strong legacy of excellence poise and perfection along with dedication to putting the best and brightest teachers in Arizona's schools. Mrs. Fisher is also responsible for bringing numerous students into the teaching profession through her course Introduction to the Profession of Teaching and courses in early childhood education at Pima Community College. Her students and colleagues will always remember her for her kindness and passion. We congratulate her on the occasion of her retirement and we wish her all the best in this new part of her life.
