Tina Wesanen-Neil
Tina Wesanen-Neil has been committed to advancing college student leadership development at the University of Arizona since she took on the role of Director of the Arizona Blue Chip Program in 2008. In the time that she has served the University she has made an indelible impact on the lives of countless students through her work with the Arizona Blue Chip Program. Through her work Tina is responsible for creating and managing experiences for students that challenge their conceptions of leadership and helps shape them for life after graduation. Tina understands the needs of the students she works with encouraging them to think critically about their role in society and how they can go on to make a difference in the communities they are a part of. Tina is a role model of sound leadership within her own life as well; she has been incredibly active within the Tucson community serving numerous non-profit organizations particularly focused on environmental and social justice causes. Tina brings these passions into her work by introducing students to complex global issues and empowering students to view themselves as change agents. The Arizona Blue Chip Program wishes to honor Tina Wesanen-Neil because she continues to inspire students through her care and commitment to her work and to modeling leadership in her life.
