Born in 1925 to Italian immigrants Virginia J. Morello of Isola di Salina Sicily married Ilario A. Jessup also born to Italian immigrants from Trieste Italy. Our mom chose to be an at-home parent raising five children in San Francisco CA (and then later in northern California in a small town called Fort Jones near the Oregon border) rather than pursue a promising business career. She was also an artist and interior designer for the Emporium national store chain. She was very active in her community and church facilitating improvements in traffic signals and crossways for children in a burgeoning suburb of San Francisco. She also pioneered the hot lunch program at a nearby school and was a consistent volunteer for various school programs such as sports leadership and arts. Virginia was not only a rock and mainstay of her large family but that of the community as well. She consistently worked at improving and facilitating various civic and private projects. She was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and supported the team since its inception in the city in 1951 and shared her love and appreciation of the game with her family. Despite her illnesses and personal hardships she was able to patiently guide and support her children into successful adulthood and now shares in the bounty and love of eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. We are forever in her debt will always remember her and always be proud.
