Tucson Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Sorority Inc. is proud to embrace the strength legacy and history instilled in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. We follow in the footsteps of our founders twenty two young women matriculating on the campus of Howard University January 13, 1913. We are devoted to effectively instigating the fundamental principals of Sisterhood Scholarship and Service. The Tucson Chapter was chartered on June 24, 1967 by fourteen distinguished dynamic and dedicated women. We have been serving in the Tucson Community for over 40 years as a public service organization. We continue to serve as leaders on public policy issues support quality education provide scholarships create positive opportunities for the youth and participate in projects that stimulate economic growth for the Tucson Community. Our public service programs in Tucson revolve around the National Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's five point program: Economic Development: Habitat for Humanity Financial Fortitude program- Educational Development: Betty Brown Scholarship Delta Academy & Delta Gems which instill in our youth the importance of education. International Awareness and Involvement: Hospitals in Kenya Africa The HIV/AIDS Pandemic Physical and Mental Health: Go Red For Women HIV/AIDS Education & U A Sarver Heart Education Committee Political Awareness and Involvement: Voter Registration Legislative Days in AZ & works with local officials to help shape political discourse. Our involvement in the political educational and economic landscape of the Tucson Community has never been more important than it is today.
