Pamela Waters Humphrey

Birthday: 1954
Pamela Waters Humphrey died tragically with her sister-in-law Ann Quinn on Wednesday May 14, 2008. Pam was born July 18, 1954, in Oklahoma City to Howard and Opal (Ritzy) Waters. She was a 1972 graduate of Bishop McGuiness High School in Oklahoma City. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Sociology in 1976 and her Masters in Personnel and Guidance in 1977 from Oklahoma State University. Just days after completing her master's degree Pam married her sweetheart Mike Humphrey. They spent their honeymoon driving across the southwest to Tucson where they have resided for the last 30 years. In 1988 Pam and Mike were blessed with the birth of their son Sean. Pam worked for the City of Tucson Water Department as a Human Resource Manager. She was instrumental in establishing programs to protect worker safety and skill base pay. Pam retired from the City of Tucson on March 31 after 30 years of service joining the ranks of the gainfully unemployed with Mike who had also just retired. Pam was busily making her next "5 year plan" of what she and Mike wanted to do and accomplish. Pam was also planning a "barnstorming" tour of the U.S. for her and Mike to visit family and friends. She was excited about making a road trip in her red beemer. She and Ann were also helping Mike's mom GG move to Tucson. When she wasn't "planning" Pam enjoyed traveling including trips to Tahiti Ireland Mexico and Europe. She loved visiting her cabin in Pinetop and spent many hours on home improvement projects. She had also begun working part-time at her friend Susan's tile studio. She loved to help plan and implement the decoration of St. Philip's for Christmas and Easter. She loved animals and had two cats and a dog. Pam was a loving honest intelligent organized and extremely generous person. She had a great sense of humor and her laughter will be missed by all who knew her. She was a fantastic wife mother and friend. Preceded in death by her parents Pam is survived by her best friend and one true love Mike son Sean brother Johnny Waters (Fran his wife) and a host of family and friends. The world is a bit colder without Pam and Ann. We miss these beautiful women so much!
