Roberta Spaller Kline

After Roberta graduated from Farmington Michigan high school she eventually enlisted in the United States Navy and was the lone female electronics technician in her class. During her stint in the Navy she won a singing contest and as her prize was awarded the honor to sing on the Ed Sullivan show. She married Burton Kline on September 14, 1959. They had two sons Joe John and twin daughters Jessie and Cathy. Once the children got older, she enrolled in college and earned her nursing degree graduating at the top of her nursing class as well as salutatorian of Eastern Arizona College class of 1978. She continued her education receiving Family Nurse Practitioner credentials as well as Certified Nurse Midwife. One of Roberta's proudest career accomplishments was her work on the University of Arizona's cancer research study that culminated in the highly effective HPV vaccine Gardasil. Roberta continues to work in cancer research with the University of Arizona. She loves to travel is a talented stained glass artist an eagle-eyed antiquer and a fan of the opera. She is generous in every sense of the word and is truly adored by her children and grandchildren!!
