Linda Mazon Gutierrez
In 2004 Linda Mazon Gutierrez received the National Foundation of Women Legislators' Latina Leadership Award in Washington D.C. and was named Woman of the Year by Soroptimists International Arizona and its U.S. Western Region. Currently president of the Hispanic Women's Corporation bringing together over 2000 Latinas nationally Linda has also been a mainstay of the National Hispana Leadership Institute serving as Past National Chair Vice-Chair and Alumnae Chair for this premiere leadership organization of Latinas who attended Harvard University. Linda also served as Arizona Women for Kerry Chair in the last presidential campaign. A past member of the nominating committee and board of Sahuaro Girl Scout Council (Tucson) she is also a board member of Chicanos Por La Causa and former board member for the Arizona Theater Company. In addition to founding Linda Mazon Gutierrez LLC for motivation seminars Linda also serves as Congressional Liaison for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Linda received her bachelor of arts and master's degrees from Arizona State University in 1972 and 1973 respectively. In 1992 she received a fellowship to Harvard University at the JFK School of Government for national Latina leaders. She serves as an editorial writer and blogger for the Arizona Republic with columns appearing regularly. A native of Phoenix Linda lives in Tucson and is married to former state senator Jaime Gutierrez Vice-President at the University of Arizona and has four children Frankie Alexis Jaime and Christopher ages 16-30 (in 2005).
