For over 30 years Patricia Stern Mathes has been a distinguished art educator in Tucson, Arizona. She has been honored as the University of Arizona/Circle K High School Leadership Award winner and the Adalberto Guerrero Teacher of the Year. Patricia received the Luz Social Hispanic Sports and Academic Enrichment Award and Mayor's certificate for Teacher of the Year. Known throughout the Native American community she has been honored for her contributions to Native American education. Patricia has been listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers. She has written and enjoyed implementing several art education grant programs which have enriched the lives of Tucson's children and adults. She has been actively involved in many community organizations including the Tucson/Pima Arts Council UA Presents and The Friends of Western Art. In addition, Patricia has received numerous awards for her oil and pastel paintings including the Wallis Award. Her art has been included in local as well as national publications. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America as well as an exhibiting member of the New Mexico Pastel Society Portrait Society of America and the Oil Painters of America. Patricia's work can be found in corporate and private collections.
