It didn't hurt that her dad was Zip Lesher longtime University Registrar. Unfortunately Pearl Harbor occurred in December of her Freshman year and World War II didn't end until VJ Day in the summer of 1945. Traditional college life was put on hold while all efforts were directed toward winning the war. In 1946 as Social Director at Camelback Inn in Phoenix Sue met her future husband Len Huck a Navy veteran whose first civilian job was as a desk clerk at the Inn. (Len was to become President of the Valley National Bank of Arizona.) Together they built a home raised three children and enjoyed their life of family friends and community activities. As of this writing (July 2008) they are still blessed with good health and wonderful memories of their 61 years together.
