Toni Marie Massaro
Born in 1955 Massaro received her B.S. with highest distinction from Northwestern University in 1977. She obtained her law degree from the College of William and Mary Order of the Coif in 1980. Massaro was in private practice in Chicago with Vedder Price Kaufman and Kammholz. She also has taught at Washington and Lee University Stanford University UNC-Chapel Hill and the University of Florida. Massaro joined the faculty at the University of Arizona College of Law in 1989. She is the author of Constitutional Literacy: A Core Curriculum for a Multi-Cultural Nation and is co-author with Barbara Babcock of Stanford Law School of Civil Procedure: Cases and Problems. Since 1997 Massaro has been the Milton O. Riepe Chair in Constitutional Law at the University of Arizona. In 1999 she became Dean of the James E. Rogers College of Law. Massaro is a past Board member of Southern Arizona ACLU and an ex-officio member of the Arizona State Bar Board of Governors. In 1990 she served as pro bono legal counsel with the Tucson Volunteer Lawyers Project. She received the Leslie F. and Patricia Bell Faculty Award in 1998-199 and has been a six-time recipient of the Teaching of the Year Award at the University of Arizona College of Law. She currently teaches Constitutional Law II at the College and has also taught Civil Procedure Evidence Legal Counseling and Constitutional Law in Public School Settings.
