My mother Viola Steinfeld was born January 31, 1901. She was the daughter of Albert and Bettina Steinfeld and was raised in Tucson, Arizona Territory. Viola was educated at Davis Safford and Tucson High Schools. She graduated from University of Arizona in 1922 with a degree in economics. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Phi Kappa Phi National Scholastic Honor Society. After graduation Viola left Tucson to live in New York City where she met and married Henry O'Neil in 1929. The O'Neils moved to Tucson in 1954 where Viola became an active volunteer in the arts community supporting the Tucson Museum of Art Arizona Theatre Company and Tucson Festival Society. Viola S. O'Neil died in Tucson January 29, 1988. Bettina O'Neil Lyons
