Mrs. Blake is the Chief Financial Officer of PAXIS Institute 1998 to present. Prior to her current position Blake served as the CEO of Technology Management and Development and earlier CEO of Arizona Technology Development Corporation (ATDC) (1987-1998). All three companies (PAXIS TMD and ATDC) are focused on utilizing best practices in science and technology. At Technology Management and Development and ATDC Blake was responsible for establishing and venture funding start-up companies (28) based on University advanced science and technology. This includes companies such as Vantana Medical Amplimed and Groupsystems. Blakd was appointed by the University of Arizona and the U of A Foundation as the first woman president of ATDC. Blake a certified public accountant as served the University of Arizona as Vice President for Planning and Budgeting Associate Vice President for Finance Assistant Vice President for Planning and Budgeting and Director for Institutional Finance (employed 1977-1990). In each of these positions Blake was the first woman at the UA to hold these titles. In those capacities Blake was responsible for state relations budgeting and presentation of all budgets to the Arizona Board of Regents and advocating to the Arizona state legislature for University budgets. In addition Blake was responsible all financing activity and for the investing of the University endowments and operating funds. Mrs. Blake holds a B.S. (Accounting) from the University of Arizona. She is the past Chair of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Blake served NASBA as a regional director and in various other board positions. She served on the International Reciprocity Committee Quality Review Committee and the Joint AICPA/NASBA Uniform Accountancy Committee among other committee assignments. Blake has served on the Accounting Education Change Commission which was funded by the national accounting firms as one of a group of accounting experts charged with improving accounting education at American colleges and universities. Blake was chair of the Change Commission Exams Committee that proposed means to improve the CPA Exam. Blake also served on the AICPA Board of Examiners the body responsible for developing the national CPA examination. She also has served on the National Advisory Council for Beta Alpha Phi and two terms as president of the Arizona Board of Accountancy. Blake is a lifetime member of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and a member of the AICPA. Mrs. Blake has published numerous articles in national journals including the journal of the American Management Association and the Journal of Economic Development. Blake has served on the boards of several for-profit corporations including GroupSystems Inc. Currently Blake is on a national advisory board for Guardian Life Insurance Company. She also has served on the boards of numerous non-profits including the Arizona Children's Association and the Cerebral Palsy Association. Blake has been honored by the YWCA and the University of Arizona Student Association.
